What did you first think when you got the call and they told you that you’re gonna be part of Once Upon A Time?
Oh I was really excited, coz’ I’ve kind of like heard that it was a possibily, but I hadn’t really gotten a call about it. And then there was this wonderful little fansite that.. I have the most gorgeous fans in the whole world and they put up like a mock over the…on this REALLY amazing site. And it was me all dressed as the Snow Queen. And I was like :O
I really felt like they kind of did it. Yeah they did because after that came up… then I got the call and I was so grateful. I said WOW!
OMG LIZ WHAT YOU SAID! OMG! I don’t even know what to say anymore. You really feel that way?! I’m speechless! You’re so sweet! <3
How did you joining the show come about?
I always go to that fan site of mine, only because I feel like they know what’s going on before I do. [ Laughs ] They said something about “Elizabeth Mitchell being considered for Frozen part,” and I was like, “That doesn’t make sense. That’s not really age appropriate.” Then I got a call saying that [executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis] are wondering, if this role came about, would I be interested in doing it? I was like, “Yes!” My manager was like, “Give it some thought.” “I did, yes.” I played really hard to get, obviously. Then [Adam and Eddy] called me and they were so excited about it. We had such a great talk about villains, which I can’t really go into because it has to do with what happens [on the show]. My whole theory has always been that villains never know they are villains. That seems to be the case here, even though she does some crazy stuff. It’s been really fun.

What was your reaction the first time you saw a fansite dedicated to you?
A nice one? I was just grateful. One site [www.elizabeth-mitchell.org/] is incredibly sweet. I’ll go on there anytime I want to see if there’s nice things being said, because it’s run by a bunch of really lovely people. I don’t really search around too much, because I find, when you do, it’s like sticking your hand under the couch cushion without checking with your eyes first. You’re gonna get bit by something. I don’t really do it that often. I think if I did, it would hurt my acting a little, so I try to protect it a little bit.
Oh my… *Blushing*
Liz, as we told you some time ago, we feel extremely honored for what you think about us. We feel privileged just because you’re in our life. There’s a light in you and that light is something you convey to all your fans. So if you see something beautiful here it’s all you, shining human being! <3
We wrote to Brink Magazine to thank them for mentioning us but they told us: “She mentioned that all on her own, so you’ve really made a great impact with your site.”
She’s so incredibly sweet! <3
On July 2012 we got a message from Elizabeth in which she thanks us and all her supportive fans.
“Let them know I am grateful, as I am not the best time-manager to get around to answer all the wonderful things people have to say.”
Elizabeth wants to thank us all for our support through the years. She said she doesn’t get to thank everyone personally often, but she really appreciate us all and wants us to know how much she’s “genuinely touched” by our love and support.
This Art can be a very difficult business on many levels sometimes and she said that when she needs to remember why she does what she does and how we – the fans – see her, she turns on this site and is brightened and encouraged that the thought and care behind what she does comes through. She calls us all “bright light during hard time”. She knows, when it gets difficult, she “can always check in to the site and feel the love”.

EM: Which is so nice! That’s where I go to get clips and stuff!
JG: For yourself?
EM: Yeah! If I need clips like to send to somebody or something yeah, I go to my fan site!
JG: These fans are the best!
EM: I know! My… my… I called my manager, because he needed something funny and he went like way back in time and he was like “WOOOW”.
It’s like, it’s like an encyclopedia!
JG: It is.
EM: It’s gorgeous!
JG: It’s an online archive of everything you’ve ever done!
EM: Awww It’s so ????
JG: Candids photos of eating ice-cream on Bainbridge Island. I mean, you know, it’s got everything!
EM: Yeah. Well every time I have a really hard time I go on there coz’ there’s nothing negative!
JG: Nothing.
EM: It’s deleted real fast. Sorry.
JG: ??? instead of any negative.
EM : No, I know, it’s great. There’ll be like “post deleted” and I’m like “ohhh nooo”
JG: Whatever you said.
